La Belle au Bois Dormant, first French edition of 1942 published in Paris by Jean Porson, illustrated by Henry Lemarié with 45 drawings and signed with a dedication to Charvet, contains 41 pages.

Luxury edition of Sleeping Beauty illustrated with 45 charming illustrations by the renowned miniaturist Henry Lemarié (1911-1991). First story published in 1942 in the collection 'Perrault's Tales' curated by Jean Porson.
Autographed copy from Henry Lemarié: [for Charvet, in memory of a pleasantly military stay, once in Angoulême... very friendly].
Decorated with 45 drawings 'meticulously engraved in color on 800 woods by the fervent chisel of André Marliat, master artisan, and Suzanne Duplessis,' and printed by Raymond Jacquet ('2,000,000 passes on the machine, amounting to 9,000 hours of diligent work'). Numbered print on Rives vellum limited to 2,000 copies, this one being number 226 out of 1,910. It is accompanied by the specimen and the presentation of the work (14 pages), the latter printed in 1,000 copies.
As always, Sleeping Beauty is presented as the 'First of the five tales by Perrault illustrated by Henry Lemarié...'
