Luxury edition of Sleeping Beauty illustrated with 45 charming illustrations by the renowned miniaturist Henry Lemarié (1911-1991). First story published in 1942 in the collection 'Perrault's Tales' curated by Jean Porson.

Autographed copy from Henry Lemarié: [for Charvet, in memory of a pleasantly military stay, once in Angoulême... very friendly].

Decorated with 45 drawings 'meticulously engraved in color on 800 woods by the fervent chisel of André Marliat, master artisan, and Suzanne Duplessis,' and printed by Raymond Jacquet ('2,000,000 passes on the machine, amounting to 9,000 hours of diligent work'). Numbered print on Rives vellum limited to 2,000 copies, this one being number 226 out of 1,910. It is accompanied by the specimen and the presentation of the work (14 pages), the latter printed in 1,000 copies.

In leaves, with printed and glazed cover. In very good condition, despite the cover being slightly browned with a light sunning mark and brown stains on the fourth page. A 2cm tear at the ends of the spine. Interior fresh and clean, with a small handling mark on the title page. A fine copy.
