Interlace is a unique hand-signed steel sculpture by Javi Villarroel Seoane, created in 2025 in Spain, measuring 47×40×27 cm with a proprietary patina finish and an exclusive, one-off edition.
Description from the seller
Interlace is a unique work, created using techniques never seen before on Catawiki, offered exclusively on this platform. I have created three different works using this technique.
Interlace was crafted in Toledo, in a coal forge, using centuries-old artistic forging techniques guided by professors Ramón Recuero and David Parrilla.
To create it, I traveled more than 1,000 km between Bilbao and Toledo. Each curve is the result of years of learning, skill, and technical knowledge, requiring dozens of hammer strikes during its creation, as well as optimal control of fire and steel.
Handcrafted work transforms this masterpiece into an irreplaceable piece: there is no other like it, and every detail reflects the precision, care, and passion of the creation process.
I performed a controlled oxidation using a proprietary formula free of industrial chemicals, resulting in an exclusive patina effect and a slightly glossy finish.
At Interlace, there are two ethereal paths that move together without losing their identity, supporting and accompanying each other with every turn. There is no beginning or end: only a continuous journey flowing without pause. It is inspired by the Möbius band.
A moment of connection can reflect the harmony of the entire journey, and every curve of Interlace reminds us that what we share, create, and experience intertwines beyond time, leaving a unique mark that will last forever.

In 2025, he was recognized as one of the best artists in the Basque Country and was awarded an Entrepreneurship Prize by the Bilbao City Council, in recognition of his contribution to the cultural and economic landscape.
He holds a welding professorship, having delivered official courses for the Basque Government training hundreds of welders, and has specialized training as an underwater welder, traditional artistic forging, and hot sculpting. He is currently dedicated exclusively to art in his own studio.
His legacy shows that art is not only seen but felt, and that the intangible can become the central axis of a physical and powerful creation.
His technical skill is unquestionable; his language, unmistakable.
