Rare and highly collectible lot of two limited editions (both printed in 1949 by I Phili tou Vivliou) by renowned Greek author Stratis Myrivilis (1890–1969). One volume (Life in the Tomb) is hand-signed and inscribed by the author, featuring cover art by the celebrated Greek painter Yannis Tsarouchis. The second volume (The Mermaid Madonna) is a first edition of one of Myrivilis’ most beloved novels.

He was nominated three times for the Nobel Prize in Literature (1960, 1962, 1963), and his works—especially Life in the Tomb, The Mermaid Madonna, and The Schoolmistress with the Golden Eyes—are considered cornerstones of Greek literary history.
