Description from the seller

This wax sculpture reproduces the head of Laocoonte, a small part of the great renowned Roman sculptural group preserved in the Vatican Museums. The original depicts the story of Laocoonte, part of Homer's Odyssey, specifically his struggle and suffering at the hands of the Greek gods during the Trojan War. Like other sculptures reproduced by artists, Laocoonte is characterized by the tragedy that can be seen in the exhausted eyes of the Trojan priest.
