Blue Aragonite is a calcium carbonate mineral found in different locations all over the world. This sample, an outcrop found in Pakistan at the end of 2019, produced some of the most surprising blue colours of Aragonite so far.
Blue aragonite crystals, such as calcite, are closely related as both are calcium carbonate minerals. The difference between them lies in their crystalline structure, since Aragonite has a crystalline ortorombic system, while calcite has a crystal clear trigonal system.
