Very dark and sharp prints, detailed maps!
Condition: beautiful / excellent - very nice binding with very solid clasps (professionally renewed spine, repaired tear at the bottom) with complete fittings, very well fitting locks; very neat, compact, and sturdy block (as new!); cards with original margins, very neat, very fresh, and very white pages: as new! (cards loose, some cards slightly frayed at the bottom, in the last quire a small spot in the bottom corner, otherwise notably very neat, very clean, and very white paper: as new!!).
Note: Some of the photos appear a bit yellowish due to camera settings.
Also provided with beautiful capitals and vignettes.
Large and heavy Statenbijbel.
Very charming specimen
At the time the 'World Map' was published, the entire world was not yet explored and known. For example, California was depicted as an island, Australia was still partly undiscovered, and it was labeled as 'New Holland'! Just the world map alone is immensely fascinating!
A must-have for collectors of state Bibles!
