In this work, I have tried to make the moment of inner redemption visible – not as a religious symbol, but as a human experience. The figure at the center emerges from movement, color, and chaos. It is torn and yet on the verge of rising. The red represents pain, life, and energy, while the surrounding blue and green open a space of transformation – the transition from the earthly to the spiritual.
Xani studied architecture but increasingly turned to art during his studies. During the Kosovo War, he fled his homeland and has lived in Dortmund, Germany, since 1999. He feels a sense of freedom when painting and views his own images as a stranger observer. He often realizes that he has unconsciously processed current themes when looking at his paintings, and then understands why they turned out the way they did.
The art classes in drawing and painting with an art professor led him to turn to the visual arts. His work includes both painting on canvas and large-scale wall and facade designs. He experiments with reducing forms, material structures, and the possibilities of color. His motifs often refer to a symbol language, and the design of the human figure, which he developed and generalized, runs like a common thread through many of his artistic works.
Since 2004, he has been working as a freelance artist and has participated in many exhibitions and art projects.
