Description from the seller
This Art Deco vase model 'Dufour' in clear is a creation in molded glass produced by the Val Saint Lambert crystal factory and featured in the famous Luxval catalog of 1935. This collection, aimed at making high-quality aesthetic pieces accessible to the widest audience, has marked the history of Belgian glass design.
The model features a balanced silhouette with a tightly fitted collar that opens onto a clean, circular edge. The body is accented by flat ribs that structure the form and play with light, while a belt of diamond shapes set on point provides a geometric contrast typical of Art Deco. All of this rests on a rounded, stable foot that completes the harmony of proportions.
The general condition is good: the vase shows no chips or cracks. However, a visible water level mark can be seen. The base bears the inscription 'VAL ST LAMBERT BELGIUM'.
The design of this vase is part of the work of Charles Graffart and René Delvenne, the main creators of the Luxval models, who successfully combined geometric rigor and modern shapes with refined hues. Founded in 1826, the Val Saint Lambert crystal manufacturer is one of the most prestigious workshops in Europe. With the Luxval range launched in the 1930s, it managed to attract a broad audience while maintaining a high artistic standard, making these pieces essential testimonies of Belgian glass Art Deco.
The dimensions are:
Height: 22.8 centimeters.
