AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

In 2018, a gold prospector found a metallic iron fragment 2.5 km southeast of the Hickman crater. The specimen was sold to a local mineral dealer who took it to the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in 2020, where it was finally acquired by Don Hurkot. The piece was analyzed and classified as a medium octahedral metallic meteorite.

Since that date, a few specimens have been found in the area, such as this one we are auctioning in this lot. It is a spectacular slice, where you can see its marvelous Widmanstätten Lines as well as its exterior all around the perimeter.

Here you can find the official information regarding this rare Australian meteorite, which can very rarely be seen for sale.
