Plot contains:
A particularly beautifully crafted Serbian gusle, a traditional Balkan string instrument, executed in a rich decorative style and dating from around 1980–1990.

The instrument is made of solid wood and is fully covered with deep, refined hand-carved ornaments: floral motifs, geometric details, and an expressive, sculptural head at the top of the neck.
The sound box is covered with animal hide, as is customary with the traditional gusle.

This specimen is especially interesting as a decorative and ethnographic collectible due to the exceptional quality of the carving and the imposing proportions.
