H. P. Blavatsky – Isis Unveiled is a 1982 English reprint edition of the two volumes in one, bound in red cloth with a dust jacket and 1300 pages.
Description from the seller
Helena P. Blavatsky – Isis Unveiled: A Master-Key to the Mysteries of Ancient and Modern Science and Theology
Reprint edition, 1982
This 1982 edition is a photographic facsimile of the original 1877 first edition, combining both original volumes in a single book.
With the author's portrait on the frontispiece and one fold-out illustration.
A small “United Lodge of Theosophists, New York” label is affixed to the front endpaper.
Volume I (Science) critiques 19th-century materialism and discusses psychic phenomena, the “astral light”, and parallels between modern theories and older esoteric systems such as the Vedas, Hermeticism and the Kabbalah.
Volume II (Theology) examines early Christian doctrines, mystery religions and Eastern teachings, arguing for a shared ancient wisdom underlying world religions.
Together the volumes offer a wide survey of comparative religion, occult philosophy and the history of ideas.
Binding: Red printed paper dust-jacket; original red publisher’s cloth underneath, with bright gilt lettering and illustration on the spine, still clear and shining.
Condition: Good overall. Page edges show occasional spotting, but the interior is clean throughout with no markings or creases. The paper dust-jacket has small tears in places. Otherwise a well-preserved copy.
