Luxury edition of 'Jacques Le Fataliste' by Diderot, illustrated with 15 splendid compositions in the style of the 18th century by René Lelong, engraved on copper by Raoul Serres, printed in colors with registration on the presses of Padovani.
Edition at Javal & Bourdeaux, limited to 490 copies, this one being one of 80 on bluish Arches vellum from the 18th century, with an additional bistre suite, in a separate folder. (15 plates)
- Nominative copy H.C., accompanied by a sender from the publisher with the justificatory note '... friendly homage...'.
Pages, with a embossed cover printed in red and black, and double casing (cover + slipcase).
Condition: volume in excellent condition, cover and interior very clean. Spine of the slipcase split and edges of the case torn.
