The young person is standing on a rock or a rocky element.
He wears a wide hat that protects him from the sun.
His face is often described as sunny and smiling.
He proudly displays his catch on his chest, usually a nice fish (sometimes still alive).
At her feet, on the rock, other typical elements can be seen, such as a fishing basket and/or a crab.
The artist's signature, Varlese, is engraved on the bronze base or on the rock.
Dimensions: The overall height is approximately 76 cm (including the marble base). The approximate measurements of width and depth are around 23-27 cm and 23 cm, respectively.
Style and Period: The work dates back to the period between the late 19th and early 20th century and is considered a classic of Neapolitan sculpture, with Varlese often associated with the school of Vincenzo Gemito.
It is a work that captures a moment of everyday life with a joyful and realistic tone.
