Splendid work created by René Kieffer, entirely calligraphed and illustrated by Pierre Noël, with the 68 illustrations and typographic ornaments carefully enhanced in colors using stencils and hand-applied with gold and silver accents.
Rebound by Kieffer in full brown calf, with a beautiful Art Deco design stamped in gold at the center of the covers, depicting a bouquet of flowers and leaves in a vase. The spine is smooth, decorated with two gold-tooled borders, a fleur-de-lis, the title, and the author's name in gold lettering. Gilt top. Covers and spine preserved.
Limited edition of 600 copies, this one being number 56 out of 50 on vélin de cuve (after 50 on Japan), containing a black suite bound at the end.
In very good condition, minor wear on the hinges and headbands, impeccable interior and bright illustrations. Beautiful copy.
