This work is a hanging scroll with Zen words 禅語 written on it.

The signatures and seals are 黄梅太玄 Obai Taigen”.

◯Ichigo Ichie 一期一会 ／ Once-in-a-lifetime meeting
　The meaning is, "You only have one chance in your life to meet new people and
　do new things, and you will never get the same opportunity twice.
　So, make the most of this one chance."

◯Kobayashi Taigen 小林太玄 /1938-
　Born in Houten in 1938.
　In 1975, he became the head priest of Oubai-in, a subtemple of Daitoku-ji Temple, a Rinzai sect temple.

There are stains and slight creases due to aging.

This is an antique item.
