Remarkable edition of this beautiful poem by François Villon, illustrated with 29 superb drawings by Joseph Hémard, engraved and hand-colored. A great Hémard: charming humorous and lighthearted compositions.
A beautiful editorial work by the Lutetia bookstore, of high quality on all levels: illustrations, colors, layout.
Copy No. 475, one of the 525 numbered on Arches paper. Total limited edition of 601 copies.
Bound in its rare decorated cardboard, with the front cover featuring the title in Gothic lettering and three friezes as a frame. The author's name is inscribed on the back. Covers preserved, without the spine.
In good condition. Slight damage to the bit, caps, and corners rubbed. Bit cracked. Small stain on the back. Restoration along the hinges (interior) with red adhesive. Interior fresh and clean, free of rust spots. Edges of the guards chipped. A beautiful example.
