Charles Guérin / William Fel - ‎Douze sonnets [ex. de tête sur Japon n°2/60, triple-état du frontispice] - 1922

Original collective edition of these sonnets published separately between 1897 and 1898 in 'Le Sonnet Mensuel'.

This small booklet opens with a lovely frontispiece engraved by William Fel and also contains figurative typographic ornaments of the same.

Limited to 695 copies. Here is one of the rare 60 at the head on Japan, containing three states of the frontispiece, including the pure water-etching. This one is numbered 2, signed by the publisher on the justification, and indeed includes all three states of the frontispiece.

Bound in half-chagrin leather with corner tips, smooth decorated spine, with the title in gold tooling. Covers and spine preserved.
Condition: Scuffs on the caps, interior is flawless. Very good condition.
