Telmo's original mixed-media artwork When It Becomes, dated 2024, is a 50 cm by 57 cm sculptural relief on a rigid panel of reclaimed electronics with a warm spray-paint gradient and the central phrase formed by keyboard keys, hand signed and sold direct from the artist, weighing about 3.5 kg and produced in Portugal.
Description from the seller
Unique mixed-media artwork created from reclaimed electronic components arranged into a sculptural relief. A warm spray-paint gradient unifies the surface, while keyboard keys form the central phrase “When It Becomes, It Becomes a Problem”, giving the piece both texture and conceptual focus.
Artist:
Telmo is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, assemblage, street art and poetry. Under the name Tiago Tejo, he created the acclaimed Pixelejo project, blending traditional Portuguese azulejos with pixel aesthetics to explore cultural identity, memory and digital transformation. As the artist behind Curious Goblin, he investigates the afterlives of technology, turning discarded materials into narratives that reflect on entropy and the tension between the digital and the physical. Trained in art history, with both a degree and a master’s, he now prefers to create the art yet to come rather than study the art of the past. His work bridges contemporary and vernacular forms, engaging public and gallery spaces, and in recent years he has exhibited at the Rio Loco Festival in France and at the Bienal de Arte of the Avante! Festival in Portugal.
Condition:
Excellent condition, recently completed.
Materials & Technique:
Reclaimed electronics and wiring mounted on a rigid panel, finished with layered aerosol paint.
Unframed.
Shipping:
Carefully packaged with protection for raised elements for safe transport.
