Inconnu - Négociant des Pays-Bas ou tarif général de tous les comptes du commerce - 1798

Very rare book for merchants' use at the end of the 18th century. This book, described as simple to use (but it includes explanations and a 28-page manual!), allowed merchants to calculate interest and convert various currencies in use at the time in the provinces of the Netherlands (then including present-day Belgium). The 28 pages of theory are numbered in Roman numerals, and the 550-page conversion table is numbered in Arabic numerals.
The cover is made of calfskin or sheepskin glued onto cardboard. It shows small losses at the corners. The title on the back is partially faded due to use. All pages are intact, with no tears whatsoever.
