Willem Jilts Pol (1905-1988), artist and art critic.
In the 1930s, she lived in France, where she painted French and Italian landscapes. At the end of the 1930s, she moved to the Dutch Indies, where her daughter Talitha Getty was born in 1940. Talitha was born Talitha Dina Pol, an actress and model for YSL and Vogue, and the muse of his paintings (black-and-white photos).
He lived in England from 1948 to the 1950s. In the last decades of his life, he lived in southern France, where he died in 1988. He left a large body of work behind.
Willem Jilts Pol's work remains quite recognizable thanks to his use of pastel colors and a quick but elegant use of lines. Due to the typical 'Fifties' design, his work has been appreciated by many art connoisseurs.
