Description from the seller
Vintage Omega Seamaster Automatic Chronograph (Ref. 176.007) - Calibre 1040
This is an exceptional example of the vintage Omega Seamaster Chronograph, Reference 176.007, a highly sought-after model from the early 1970s. Often nicknamed "Jedi" by collectors, this iconic timepiece stands out with its distinctive, robust tonneau-shaped stainless steel case and functional dial layout.
Key Features:
• Reference: 176.007
• Movement: Automatic Chronograph Omega Calibre 1040 (based on Lemania 1340), Omega's first high-frequency automatic chronograph movement.
• Dial: Stunning silver/grey sunburst dial with an inner tachymeter scale. Features include a central 60-minute counter (with a recognizable blue tip), 12-hour sub-register at 6 o'clock, and a combined running seconds/24-hour indicator sub-dial at 9 o'clock.
• Case: Original, period-correct tonneau-style stainless steel case.
Condition:
The watch is in superb, nearly flawless condition for its age. The case and bezel are scratch-free and excellently preserved, maintaining their original lines and finish. The only very minor imperfection is a set of small, barely visible hairline scratches on the screw-down caseback, which do not detract from the watch's overall outstanding condition. The movement is running smoothly. This timepiece is a true collector's grade example.
