Six Art Deco green Atlas-decor semi-crystal glasses by Verreries Doyen, Belgium, with deep-cut cotes plates in a fan shape and legs jagged in the stems, hand-blown with a polished pontil, 13.5 cm high and 7 cm wide, in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear.
Description from the seller
An elegant set of six Art Deco glasses from the renowned Belgian glass factory Verreries Doyen, executed in the beloved Atlas decor. The goblets are decorated with deeply cut flat ribs that fan out, while the stems feature carved legs, a typical Art Deco facet work that beautifully breaks the light.
Executed in semi-crystal and colored in the characteristic Anagreen, a rich emerald green shade that is distinctive of Doyen in the interwar period.
The Atlas décor looks very much like the Nestor décor from Val Saint Lambert.
All glasses are mouth-blown and display a polished pontil, indicating pre-industrial production and making them representative of the luxury segment of Verreries Doyen before World War II.
They are in excellent condition.

Verreries Doyen, active in Belgium in the first half of the 20th century, gained fame for producing mouth-blown luxury glass, often in semi-crystal and finished with hand-cut Art Deco decorations. The factory was known for its refined technical craftsmanship, including polished pontils, deep faceting, and vibrant colors such as Anagreen, amber, and blue.
During the 1930s, Doyen produced a series of geometrically inspired tableware—including the Atlas décor—that are highly sought after by Art Deco glass collectors today. After World War II, the factory gradually shifted to more machine-made glassware, making the former mouth-blown and cut pieces increasingly rare.
