Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A rare cut-to-clear crystal Cologne bottle or small decanter attributed to Val Saint Lambert, circa 1908, in groengeel and ruby crystal with hand-cut Taille Riche and a diamond-point facet pattern, measuring 14 cm high and 4.8 cm wide, in excellent condition with the original stopper and neck marked with the number 89.
Description from the seller
This is a rare and beautiful cologne bottle or small decanter, presumably produced by the renowned Belgian crystal factory Val Saint Lambert and dated around 1908. The piece is a stunning example of the 'cut-to-clear' (double-layered) technique, where the vibrant greenish-yellow Ouraline (Uranium glass) is coated with a deep ruby-red (rubis) crystal layer.
The bottle is entirely hand-cut in the style of 'Taille Riche' (richly cut). The decoration features the classic and deeply cut 'Taille à pointes de diamant' (diamond-point cut or diamond-shaped facets) that dominates the body of the bottle, complemented by detailed faceted cuts on the shoulder and neck. The thick base of the bottle is also richly decorated with a complex, deeply cut 'Sterpatroon' (Taille en Étoile). This faceted detail creates a beautiful light refraction, demonstrating high quality.
The authenticity of this collection is underscored by the fact that the original, custom-cut stop and the neck of the bottle are both marked with the identical number '89'. This proves that the set is complete and belongs together.
This is a unique and collectible piece for Art Nouveau crystal enthusiasts, particularly the rare Ouraline editions.
The bottle is in excellent condition.
