Pallasite meteorite slice – 77 × 66 × 3 mm – 36 g – two polished faces – antioxidant treatment
Elegant slice of Pallasite meteorite, one of the rarest and most spectacular types of known meteorites, composed of a natural network of olivine (peridot) crystals embedded in a metallic matrix (iron-nickel alloy).
The two sides are carefully polished, revealing the transparency of the crystals and the fascinating internal structure of this celestial meteorite. A specific treatment has been applied to protect the surface against oxidation. The hues range from golden brown to olive green, depending on the transmitted light.
