Strada di campagna, oil on panel, Italy, from 1930–1940, original edition, signed by Luigi Crisconio, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Fine painting from a noted auction house, signed at the bottom right, depicting a country road, oil on panel, 41 x 51 cm including frame.
Luigi Crisconio (Naples 1893 - 1946). Enrolled in 1913 at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, he studied under Michele Cammarano, who held the chair of landscape painting, whose teaching was instrumental in his development.
In 1929, I successfully participated in the Universal Art Exhibition in Barcelona.
In 1928, 1930, 1934, 1938, 1940, and 1942, I was invited to participate in the Venice Biennale, and in 1942, a personal room was dedicated to him where he exhibited 15 paintings, mostly landscapes of the Sorrento coast. From 1931 to 1940, I participated in the Rome Quadriennials.
Already after his death, he received from critics the attention he had not received in life, and in recent decades, there has been a reevaluation of the artist, who is considered by some as the greatest Neapolitan painter of the 20th century.
I provide careful packaging and shipping via tracked courier. In any case, the shipment is at the buyer's risk; I will not be responsible for any damage that occurs during transport: the eventual buyer who chooses shipping implicitly accepts the above condition. The frame is kindly offered as a gift, and therefore no claims regarding it will be accepted.
