After serving as an illustrator during the Boar War; Menpes travelled widely, visiting Burma, Egypt, France, India, Italy, Japan, Kashmir, Mexico, Morocco, and Spain. Old inscription dated 1909 with neat ink on top first blank front free endpaper page. Foxing to free endpaper pages, and on some pages. Text is clean and plates are bright (Please see pictures).
