Medieval chess set in gilded and bronzed metal with imitation leather board – Greece, 1980s-1990s

Heavy metal chess set inspired by medieval European subjects. The figures depict nobles, knights, guards, and fortified towers, in a style typical of Romanesque iconography. The pieces are made of zamak metal alloy with a galvanic finish in gold and bronze. The set comes complete with its own red velvet case and integrated chessboard in decorated faux leather.

The King stands 8 cm tall and weighs 102 grams. All the pieces are cool to the touch, compact, and produce a clear metallic sound when struck together. The casting features well-defined details, typical of Greek production in the 1980s and 1990s.

The chessboard is made of imitation leather with a printed playing field, featuring side decorations and a shaped internal compartment for each piece.

The chess pieces are in very good overall condition. No missing pieces, complete set with all 32 pieces.
The board has some marks (scratches) on the side of one edge as seen in some photographs.
