Ulrich Bernardi (1925–2016) was a South Tyrolean woodcarver from Ortisei in Val Gardena, Italy, best known for his detailed and expressive nativity scenes and figures. He was a master of his craft and his works have become popular collectors' items worldwide.
"The Bernardi Nativity Scene": Bernardi is best known for his extensive nativity scene, for which he began creating figures in 1962. The collection, which eventually grew to over 100 different figures, is characterized by its Alpine style and figures with simple, lovable expressions.
