Philips tape recorder
RK40 EL3522/22b
All faulty WIMA film capacitors (Tropydur, brown) have been replaced.
3 x 100nF/400V, axial,
1 100nF/250V, axial
3 x 22nF/400V, axial
Replaced defective electrolytic capacitors.
2 x 100µF/25V, axial/radial.
1 10µF/25V, ax
Power supply filter electrolytic capacitor tested: still okay.
Three faulty carbon composition resistors were found. The remaining ones are still within tolerance.
The equalization switch works unreliably.
Troubleshooting: sulfated contacts cleaned, actuation linkage readjusted.
Band shutdown does not work. Activation pin was glued to the switch replacement. The counting mechanism drive belt has been replaced.
The magical tape lights up and the motor turns. The tape recorder plays the inserted tape.
Both coils are not part of the offer and are only installed to show that the motor is turning.
Device is still sold as defective, for parts, or for hobbyists.
