Luis Enrique González presents an original oil on canvas titled Elegancia en Quietud, a Realist equestrian portrait of a horse, signed by hand, 53 cm high by 40 cm wide, produced in 2025 in Spain with an excellent condition.
Description from the seller
In 'Elegance in Stillness,' the Cuban artist Luis Enrique González offers an equestrian portrait of impeccable refinement, where the nobility of the animal is expressed without artifice or unnecessary dramatization. Executed in oil on canvas, the work rests on a subtle balance between physical presence and inner serenity, capturing the horse in a moment of conscious calm, prior to any action.
The composition stands out for the purity of the neutral background, which allows the viewer to fully focus on the anatomy and character of the subject. The brushstroke, controlled and sensitive, traverses the muscular neck and head with a harmonious rhythm that reveals both technical mastery and respect for the depicted figure. The coat, worked with warm and luminous transitions, suggests vitality and contained energy, while the horse's gaze conveys attentiveness, docility, and dignity.
The bridle, treated with precision and discretion, does not interrupt the poetic reading of the work; on the contrary, it reinforces the idea of bond and understanding between the human and the animal. González does not seek to narrate a scene but to fix an attitude: the elegance that arises from control, the strength that does not need to impose itself.
This piece is especially attractive to collectors who value contemporary figurative painting with a classical roots, capable of naturally integrating into sophisticated spaces and providing a sense of balance, nobility, and timeless distinction. 'Elegance in Stillness' is a work that is contemplated daily and appreciated over time, growing in presence and meaning.
Note for collectors

Artist Statement — Luis Enrique González
My work is a constant dialogue between light and form, where oil painting becomes a means to explore the emotional and symbolic depth of reality. I am interested in nature and the human figure not only as visual motifs but as living territories charged with stories, silences, and tensions. Through realism, I seek to reveal what is hidden in everyday life: fragility, strength, persistence, and beauty that manifest in gestures, in matter, and in the spaces we inhabit.
Chiaroscuro is for me a tool of thought. Through contrast, I find the internal structure of each image, the atmosphere that allows the color to breathe and become the protagonist. I work with meticulous observation, trying to ensure that each brushstroke retains the sensitivity of the moment and, at the same time, a permanence that transcends the temporality of the depicted object.
My pieces are positioned at a crossroads between academic tradition and a contemporary perspective, where rigorous technique coexists with a personal expressive search. I paint because I find in oil painting a space for revelation: a way to understand the world and at the same time reinvent it through light, texture, and color.
