Description from the seller
Hergé Studios was founded on April 6, 1950, because Hergé could no longer handle the weekly production of a page of The Adventures of Tintin alone, especially as he increasingly demanded greater accuracy in the drawings. The studio began in 1950 in Hergé's house on Delleurlaan in Brussels but moved in 1953 to Louizalaan. With the move, Hergé aimed to create a clear separation between his professional and private life. In the studio, new adventures of Tintin were created (from Rocket to the Moon), old albums were modernized, and advertising work and merchandising were produced. The studio also contributed to several animated film projects. After Hergé's death in 1983, Hergé Studios became the organization managing his legacy, such as the copyrights of The Adventures of Tintin, Kwik and Flupke's misadventures, and Jo, Suus, and Jokko. In December 1986, Hergé's widow and sole heir, Fanny Rodwell (born Fanny Vlamynck), decided to dissolve the studio, leading to the establishment of the Hergé Foundation.
In 1973, two small Tintin flip books (mutoscope books) were released, in which quickly flipping through them creates an animated scene. Two issues were published.
1) Captain Haddock in 'The Fright of His Life'
Jansen and Jansen – the famous detectives in "two in one go"
This lot contains a fine original drawing from part 1. It was used for the small flip book part 1 published in 1973. The drawing is done in pencil and then inked. A splendid drawing that remains in excellent condition. Offering this beautiful drawing (17.9 x 14.8 cm) presents a unique opportunity to acquire something beautiful from Studios Hergé.
The photos of the publication are for information purposes. The booklet is not included with this lot.
The beautiful drawing (a top piece suitable for framing) is carefully packed and sent via registered mail to the new owner.
