Published by Aikindō
This is an original two-volume set of “Kinrei Zen’aku Monogatari” (金鈴善悪譚), printed in Keiō 2 (1866) during the final years of the Edo period.
The work was authored by Kanagaki Robun, one of the most influential writers of the late Edo to early Meiji eras, and illustrated by Mōsai Yoshitora, a prominent pupil of Utagawa Kuniyoshi known for his dynamic warrior prints. The set was issued by the publisher Aikindō.
Each volume contains approximately 10 leaves and features vivid woodblock-printed covers depicting dramatic kabuki-style characters.
These books represent a fine example of late-Edo popular literature combining storytelling, theatre culture, and woodblock artistry.

As expected for items of this age, there is general wear, age-related soiling, and slight damage at the lower area.
Still, the colors on the covers remain appealing, and both volumes are complete.
