M. BURGAZ - It is not a piece of history on your wall

This work is a recreation of Aztec art that excited the artist when she saw it in person during a trip to Mexico. Aztec art is so simple, original, and direct that it remains modern and current. We replicate, imitate, and plagiarize all things ancient. In this case, on an irregular aluminum base textured with marble dust, sands... Aztec figurines coexist with cars, globally recognized brands... and we always want to take a little piece of the places we visit and that amaze us. But we must not deceive ourselves; these pieces taken out of their context make no sense. We can't take home a piece of history, only a memory, an interpretation of those times that we will never know exactly.
This work is sent in a cardboard box.

Maria Burgaz (1970) knew from a very young age that her calling was art. She began her training at the School of Decorative Arts in Madrid and graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid in the Painting specialty in 1993. She later completed her studies at FIT in New York.
Winner of contests such as the Wellington Foundation, Professional Football Foundation, Woman and Society, Iberdrola-UEX, UNED, Eugenio Hermoso, Gran Casino de Torrelodones... her work, in addition to being part of the collections of these institutions, is also included in those of municipalities such as Gibraleón, Valdemoro, Martos, Horche, and the Alicante Provincial Council.
He has held dozens of solo and group exhibitions both in Spain and abroad, and his work is also part of numerous private collections around the world.
His hardworking and enthusiastic attitude has led him to participate in all kinds of projects and collaborate with designers, writers, and anyone else that allows him to express everything he carries inside. His work always reveals the stage he is going through, his vitality, and his particular sense of humor and way of understanding life, always with a mastery of techniques that he combines and juxtaposes to create unique paintings of great narrative and technical richness. The artwork is framed in a black wooden box made by the artist.
Their works always include a certificate of authenticity.
