Complete set of six Neoclassical Paris porcelain vases-cratères in Empire taste, circa 1850, each 30 cm high, 20 cm wide and 20 cm deep, with hand-painted mythological scenes on a deep red ground, gilding, swan-shaped handles and an N monogram beneath an imperial crown, plus two pedestals and two removable inner basins, marked M. Imp.le de Sèvres as an atelier mark (not Royal/Imperial Sèvres) and in overall good condition with minor wear.
Description from the seller
Pair of neoclassical crater vases – Paris porcelain, in the Sèvres style – 19th century (circa 1850) – Complete set of 6 pieces
Very beautiful pair of crater vases in fine porcelain, richly decorated in the Empire style.
Each vase features a mythological scene painted by hand, with soft colors and meticulous details, typical of the finest Parisian workshops of the 19th century.
The deep red background, gold motifs, swan-shaped handles, and the 'N' monogram topped with the imperial crown give the entire piece a remarkable decorative presence.
Complete set of 6 pieces
2 richly decorated crater vases
Two flared bases (piédouches) assorted, serving as presentation bases.
Two removable inner containers with gold borders, used for water, flowers, or potpourri in the past.
These four items indeed belong to the original set, which increases the interest of the lot.
Attribution
The mark 'M. Imp.le de Sèvres' visible under the pieces is a Parisian workshop mark evoking the style of Sèvres. It is not a production of the Manufacture Royale/Imperial of Sèvres, but a 19th-century Parisian porcelain made in the style of Sèvres.
State:
Very good overall condition considering its age.
Some light gilding wear and traces of age, particularly on the cups, are entirely normal.
No major highlights.
The photos are an integral part of the description.
