M. Pointet (active late 19th – early 20th century) The Walled Town of Concarneau, after Adolphe Yvon (1817–1893) Oil on panel, signed lower right: M. Pointet Mention: after Yvon Panel dimensions: 43.5 × 32.5 cm Dimensions with antique frame: 53.5 × 42 cm Description: Charming composition depicting the Walled Town of Concarneau, carefully painted in a luminous and naturalistic palette, faithful to the academic spirit of Adolphe Yvon. The artist, M. Pointet, pays homage to the renowned painter by creating an interpreted copy of his original work, in the tradition of studio studies and reproductions from the late 19th century. The work is executed in oil on panel, demonstrating a fine mastery of drawing and light, typical of French academic painting. Condition: very good condition; antique period frame, in good overall condition. Period: circa 1880–1900.
