Superb and large oil on canvas by the international artist Otto Fried (1922-2020), dated 1962.
This work from the artist's figurative period captures with a vaporous and poetic touch an intimate scene on a terrace in Cogolin (Gulf of Saint-Tropez). The color palette—dominated by warm tones, ochres, terracotta, and greens—perfectly evokes the light and the gentle way of life of the south of France in the 1960s.
