Description from the seller
MiLo – “Trans-Directional Shift”
A work by Amsterdam-based artist MiLo (1976).
Trans-Directional Shift explores the tension between structure and movement.
Bold black bands form a geometric framework, while scratches, arcs, and underlying marks disrupt and redirect the composition.
The result is a dynamic interplay between order and deviation — a sense of motion cutting across established paths.
The pale background carries subtle textures and weathered undertones, giving the work depth and atmosphere.
Within the composition, small directional notations and etched lines hint at diagrams or shifting coordinates, yet the piece remains wholly abstract, inviting open interpretation.
The artwork can be displayed in any orientation, allowing the internal logic and directionality to shift depending on how the viewer engages with it.
The painting will be rolled up and shipped in a sturdy tube or box, without frame, and includes a signed certificate of authenticity.

About the artist
MiLo (1976) is an Amsterdam-based artist with a background in photography and art studies.
Over the years he has sold more than 800 original works, now residing in private collections, hotels, restaurants, and offices across Europe, the United States, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
His practice spans early Pollock-inspired action painting, precise geometric compositions, and the layered, scratched surfaces he explores today.
MiLo investigates the tension between construction and erosion, building up and scraping back until traces emerge.
These forms may recall urban structures, geological strata, botanical shapes, or remnants of thought—yet they remain open to interpretation.
Each work forms part of an ongoing exploration of abstraction, memory, and transformation, making MiLo one of the most prolific and recognizable contemporary artists on Catawiki.
