Anonimo - Le preghiere di Anna Colonna a San Francesco - 2023

Facsimile reproduction of manuscript W.322 held at The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore: new, in perfect condition, it is the delightful prayer book from the mid-15th century dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi, once owned by Anna Colonna, Princess of Taranto.
The volume is contained in a box set along with a 140-page commentary featuring 33 color plates outside the text.
The facsimile is small in size: 75×106 mm, consisting of 231 sheets plus endpapers, and printed on high-quality paper from Cartiere Fedrigoni with an aging treatment, satin gold foil in lamination with double pass for embossing.
The binding is made of full-grain leather with blind stamped decoration on the covers and spine; the sewing and headbands are handcrafted; the closures are made of oxidized brass, attached to the front and back with leather straps.
The prayer book is characterized by lively narrative scenes and imposing figures of saints isolated against darkened gold backgrounds. Created in Puglia in the mid-15th century, it features nineteen historiated initials with rich narrative details and six full-page miniatures of saints, attributed to the Maestro di San Corrado.
The edition is limited to 999 numbered specimens.
