Description from the seller
Two original works of art signed by André Verdet (1913-2004): a portrait created with oil pastel, enriched with a beautiful inscription: [For Claire Tucherer, always and still beautiful. On her lovely face / I fear to see pass / The shadow of a star / On the decline.]
With an original color lithograph titled 'L'Origine du Monde' (33.5 x 23.5 cm) placed opposite.
The whole framed under glass (45 x 67cm).
In very good condition. Small tear on the frame and small traces of adhesive on the glass. Beautiful specimen.
André Verdet, painter, sculptor, ceramist, and poet. Born in Nice in 1913; died in Saint-Paul-de-Vence in 2004. Friend of Picasso, Braque, Matisse, Léger, Miro, he wrote numerous essays on artists.
