In 'The Quiet Hour,' I try to capture that tiny yet luminous moment when time seems to fold over itself and the body surrenders to introspection. This female figure, leaning into her own thoughts, is not a portrait nor a scene; she is the symbol of an inner space that can only be accessed when the mind finally quiets itself.

While I was painting it, I felt I was composing an emotional map made of gentle geometries, slow rhythms, and silences that breathe. Each color plane: the ochres that evoke the earth, the turquoises that converse with calm, the pinks born from memory, becomes a fragment of the inner voice that we all learn to listen to in moments of chosen solitude.

The lines, deliberately simple and firm, outline a body that does not pose: a body that waits. The figure rests her head on her hand with an almost architectural stillness, as if her thought were the true support of the scene. The round sun in the background: that minimalist and inevitable circle, functions as a second pulse, a silent presence that illuminates without intruding.

In this work, I explore my own relationship with pause: a refuge from the noise of the world, an intimate act of reinhabiting myself. I can say that this painting is, essentially, an emotional self-portrait, an open window to that suspended hour when existence becomes softer, more human, and more honest.
