Holland-origin Louis XVI antique fall-front secretaire desk in wood, dating to ca. 1770–1795, lockable and in good condition with minor signs of age, dimensions about 161 cm high, 94 cm wide and 42 cm deep, with ebony, holly and mahogany inlays and a central drawer and interior with working key-locks.

Hollands Louis XVI secretary with a 'small gate', late 18th century.
Overhoeks installed styles with beautifully detailed inlaid ebony wooden half-pillar with fire-gilded capitals (original).
Frontally inlaid list work with solid carved rosettes.
Loose fitting on the upper drawer, between the drawer (!!) flap and doors.
Slot and key working (originally).
Interior of a piece with drawers filled with original fire-gilded knobs. Central door with a working key. All with inlaid trim, holly, and ebony.
Writing board with black cloth inlay.
Lower cabinet with two doors, also with a lock and key below, behind a shelf.
Old restorations from a later date.
Locks and keys working. Entirely on tapered legs with a bronze knob. Silks not torn.

Recently thoroughly inspected for loose parts of the construction and veneer. No live woodworm found on 12/08/2025.
