Oil painting Resurgir Indómito by Cristian Mesa Velázquez, hand-signed original Realismo work from 2025, 14 cm by 22 cm, produced in Spain and sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
In 'Resurgir Indómito,' Cuban artist Cristian Mesa Velázquez captures the most primitive and powerful essence of the horse spirit, deliberately moving away from traditional realism to delve into a gestural, vibrant, and deeply emotional language.
The figure of the horse, rendered in a palette of dynamic grays, emerges as a body that struggles, advances, and asserts itself, while the golden and ochre background breaks into dense, almost tectonic textures that evoke light, heat, and a sense of rebirth. Mesa combines impulsive strokes with areas of thick impasto, creating a visual tension that transforms the piece into a vital impulse contained within a small format.
This horse is not merely represented: it is happening. Its posture suggests a moment of rupture, of absolute determination, as if the creature were rising once more before the world after being forged by fire and time.
The work invites the collector to contemplate the movement, strength, and pure energy that Mesa manages to distill in every stroke. It is a piece that becomes an amulet, a symbol, a presence. Its magnetism opens space in any environment, granting it character and a powerful focal point.
