A finely potted Yixing stoneware teapot of the Chrysanthemum Petal (菊瓣壶) type, a form first appearing in the early Qing dynasty and long admired by collectors for its refined craftsmanship and elegant structure. Teapots of this type were technically demanding to produce and, historically, were rarely attempted by ordinary potters; signed examples are typically associated with highly skilled artisans.

The present teapot is a classic example of the Juban (菊瓣) ribbed style: the chrysanthemum petals radiate continuously from the finial down to the foot, each petal seamlessly aligned. The lid fits in any rotational position, with each 'mother-and-son' joint matching perfectly—an indication of exceptional precision. The gracefully arched spout extends naturally from the petal pattern, while the elongated handle sweeps downward like flowing water, giving the piece a poised and elegant silhouette. Balanced in both form and function, this teapot exemplifies the aesthetic harmony valued in Yixing wares.

The base bears the seal-script mark 'Wanquan' (萬泉), the courtesy name of Jiang Delin (蔣德林), an accomplished Yixing potter active during the Daoguang and Tongzhi periods. According to the Guangxu edition of the New Gazetteer of Jingxi County, Yixing 《宜興荊溪縣新志》, Jiang Delin was 'exquisitely skilled in all arts; his teapots, flowerpots, cups, plates, and desk furnishings were elegantly shaped and lustrous in color, making him the foremost craftsman of his time.'
