For this series of books, the Dutch ornithologist and author A. Rutgers selected the most beautiful illustrations from the works of John Gould. Rutgers wrote a new species description for all the carefully reproduced illustrations.
This series, consisting of 10 parts, was originally published in the Netherlands but was later also released in German, English, and French.
This complete German-language series offered here consists of the following parts:
European Birds I and II (based on The Birds of Europe and The Birds of Great Britain)
Australian birdlife I and II (based on The Birds of Australia)
Birdworld of Asia I and II (based on The Birds of Asia)
Bird World of New Guinea I and II (based on The Birds of New Guinea)
Bird law of South America I and II (based on A Monograph of the Trochilidae, A Monograph of the Rhamphastidae, and A Monograph of the Trogonidae)
The 10 parts (25x19cm) are all in very good condition. All dust jackets are present and in good condition; the spines are slightly discolored from sunlight. Internally, the books are fresh and tight, with no loose or missing pages. For a good impression of this series, see the photos.
