Superb and very rare edition, strictly limited to 100 copies (including 2 hors commerce), of this poem by François Villon, illustrated with 14 hand-colored etchings by Léon Lebègue, with the text printed in Gothic type in the style of illuminated manuscripts from the Middle Ages.

One of the 97 tinted Holland editions, after the three unique copies (on white vellum, imperial Japan, and cream vellum). No. 28, to which is attached a double suite on China (including one with a remark), consisting of compositions by Léon Lebègue.

Sheets, in a cardboard folder, illustrated label glued on the top cover. - Fresh interior except for the unglued numbering sheet, missing the tie that closes the covers, slight traces of dirt. In very good condition.

In this tragic and raw ballad, François Villon gives voice to a stunning woman, admired and desired by all, confronting the aging of her body and her regrets: the Beautiful Heaulmière.
