Cristian Mesa Velazquez - Encuentro en la Frontera del Aire

In 'Encounter at the Air Border,' Cuban artist Cristian Mesa Velázquez captures a suspended moment, a silent dialogue between two equine spirits that seem to recognize each other beyond matter and time. The composition, intimate and restrained, unfolds against a fragmented background of white and ochre patches, functioning as a broken surface, almost archaeological, where the animals emerge as living presences that break the stillness of the space.

The scene masterfully contrasts the warmth of the chestnut horse with the cold sobriety of the dark horse.
