Emiel Laskaris - Table lamp - XL - Ceramic, Glaze - Brutalist decoration

Handmade ceramic table lamp with a broken-white shade and abstract brutalist decoration. The shade is broken white, with a matte interior. Designed by Emiel Laskaris, Belgium, in the 1960s. Size: 56 cm high. Shade diameter: 39 cm. Base without shade is 32 cm high and 20 cm wide. Weight: 4.2 kg. Signed on the outside of the base. Excellent condition, without damages.
Emiel Laskaris was a Greek artist who settled in the Belgian city of Sint-Niklaas, where he had his ceramics studio.
He was mainly active in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. His style is characterized by a combination of organic, brutalist forms and sometimes a 'space age' aesthetic, with the use of striking glazes such as bronze lustre or bright red glaze.
Signature: Many of his works are signed on the lower or inside with his initials, 'E.L.'.
