Description:
Elegant Art Deco sculpture depicting a stylised pheasant walking through foliage, mounted on a black marble plinth.
The bird is executed in cold-painted spelter with beautiful geometric engravings to the wings and tail, characteristic of the French Art Deco period.
A gilt butterfly decorates the corner of the base, adding a decorative and unusual detail.
The sculpture displays the strong flowing lines and stylised naturalism typical of the workshops that produced pieces in the manner of I. Rochard, J. Lemoine, and Menneville.
Condition:
• Sculpture: very good overall, with minor age wear to the paint.
• Original screws and underside plates present.
