Original 2023 acrylic on canvas diptych by Lana Pokhoday, titled EXISTENZ | A Diptych Reflection. Where Does Reality Begin?, 80 x 40 cm (two 40 x 40 cm panels, 2 cm deep), blue and green, signed by hand on the reverse, sides painted and ready to hang with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Description from the seller
Two square universes. A profound dialogue on canvas about how gaze—internal and external—shapes our reality. This diptych is a journey into a surreal world where time flows differently, and symbols speak louder than words.
· Technique: Acrylic on canvas, unique textured surface.
· Size: Each panel — 40 x 40 x 2 cm. Overall size of the assembled diptych — 80 x 40 x 2 cm.
· Presentation: Sides are painted, ready to hang without a frame. Protected with a matte varnish.
· Authenticity: Hand-signed on the reverse, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
· Left panel, "The Measure of Time": Here time doesn't tick—it melts, stretches, and warps under the gaze of consciousness. A clock-memento, a ladder-transition, and ever-watchful stalk-eyed observers. A reflection on how we perceive the flow of life within ourselves.
· Right panel, "The Focus of Attention": The world looks back at us. The enigmatic Black Cat—the embodiment of intuition—is caught in the lens of the disembodied eye of an old TV, a symbol of media and external judgment. And above it all, a soaring White Dove, a sign of the spirit that remains free.
Why this diptych is special:
· Art you can feel: The author's technique creates an expressive, almost sculptural texture. The paintings attract not only the eye but also the touch—you want to feel the weave of brushstrokes, the play of light and shadow on the relief surface.
· A ready-made art statement: The diptych is conceived as a self-sufficient object. Painted edges and a thoughtful composition allow for immediate hanging. It's an instant transformation of any space.
· Depth beyond the visible: Behind the vivid imagery lies a multi-layered concept for contemplation. This work will reveal itself to you again and again, offering new meanings.
The ideal collector:
· For the admirer of contemporary surrealism, where intellectual play meets strong aesthetics.
· For the creator of an interior with character (loft, minimalist, eclectic), who seeks not just decor, but a meaningful and visual focal point.
· For the collector attentive to unique technique and promising names in art.

Lana Pokhoday, known by the pseudonym Li Lu Ay, is a contemporary artist of Ukrainian roots living in Spain. Although she has training in a different field, her artistic practice has developed through thorough self-education, complemented by master classes and private online tutoring with renowned contemporary artists in Spain and Ukraine. This dual approach ensures a solid technical foundation and independent creative exploration.
Her style is a synthesis of surrealism and expressive minimalism, where animals, with unusual shapes and a distant gaze, become guides to worlds of absurdity and fantasy. Her works are filled with symbolism, visual paradoxes, and atmospheric tension. Through contrasts and strange images, Lana invites the viewer to delve into the irrational, to rethink the everyday, and to feel the hidden emotions.
Li Lu Ay's works have been selected to participate in various art exhibitions and competitions in Spain and Ukraine. Her pieces are part of private collections in Switzerland, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Austria, which attests to the international recognition of her work.
As part of their career, it is worth highlighting the publication of their watercolors 'Winter in Lviv' and 'Rovinj Seafront' on the front pages of issue 18 of Visual Art Journal (February 2025), a milestone that underscores the visibility and recognition of their work in specialized media.
Each of their works is an autonomous story, created in their studio and full of character, ready to find its place in a new space and awaken new meanings.
