A lovely antique Chinese soapstone carving, depicting an extremely finely carved seated Man and Lady Seated on an Ox holding a Manuscript, wearing long gowns. Executed in a nice red and white stone with some agate/jadeite tones; typical for the valuable Shoushan stone; of we believe this piece is made. Handcrafted in ancient Imperial China, during the Qing dynasty (18th/19th Century). On the bottom fitted on a nicely sculpted base. Guaranteed original and of the stated period. Please note all the extremely fine carving, even on the bottom.

Provenance: Kunsthandel Klefisch. Including tailor-made wooden stand

Condition: The object is in overall good condition, minor wear over the centuries, the heads seem to be re-attached. The condition is carefully checked with strong UV-light and bright translucent white light.
